Not so good news....

This is a layout I did with the Life Preservers kit Imaginisce line....wonderful papers they have, so fun and full of spring. A happy layout for a not so happy topice...but that's ok because there are happy days ahead 8-)

My world changed slightly last week when I took my daughter to the doctor for a minor ailment and left with a heart condition...really!

I've been having some wacky things going on with my heart in the last few years, kind of feels like it's beating really fast or a really hard pound and sometimes feel like it skips a beat or beats out of order. I've worn the heart monitors a few times and it didn't really show anything, so then the doctor sent me for an ultrasound of my heart....that was January 15. On March 25 when I was at the doctor with Olivia the receptionist told me I had test results in and she would talk about it in the same visit as my daughter. She told me I have a hole in my heart and the sensation I'm feeling is when the blood back washes through.....nice. I need to see a cardiologist, so now I'm waiting patiently for my appointment.

She has had two patients with this condition and they had endured a stroke and that is how they found it, so I guess I'm lucky. They used to do open heart surgery a long time ago to correct it but now they can go in the vein in the groin area to fix it....day surgery or so they say. Nervous? yes very. I have many questions now that this news has sunk in....can I exercise? Not that it matters much as I carrying laundry from one floor to another is hardly a cardio workout but I do need to know this kind of stuff.

I guess I was born with it and it's not shown up until now, now that I have blood pressure issues. it's been high for quite a few weeks now and I had to record the numbers and bring them in to her. So today I gathered all my 174/109 numbers and presented them to her and she said congrats!!! You are now on meds!! So there, I'm officially old.

Do you think while I'm under they can do a tummy tuck and a boob job?

I can't believe hockey season is over!

Seems like they just got on the ice and it's over..... They play from October to March and this Sunday is the year end party at Zoom Zooms the indoor playground. Dh is the head coach and we had a great bunch of kids and parents this year. Now it's time for a summer sport, I wonder what he will choose?

This is what I'm missing right now......

How about everyone else? Missing the warm sun on your skin? I'm so tired of the layers and my cozy slippers, I'm ready for the next season. How many days until we can go up to the trailer again?

Sandra's Challenge

To open the 6th folder and post the 6th picture and explain it. So here's mine...

BORING!!!! It the advent calendar I made for Joshua. It's the Karen Foster white plain calendar and I covered it with BG papers, turned out really nice, I made one for Olivia too. The drawers are really small, I could only fit a couple of hersey kisses so for one of the days I wrote a note and put it in the drawer....the note had instructions of where to find his treat hidden somewhere in the house...that was fun. So now I challenge Lisa C, Leah, Andrea, Dee, Elisabeth, and Maggi to do the same!!!

Her hair

It's an amazing colour, very similar to my sister April and my dear cousin Beverly. I wish I had it. I think it's grown four inches since this picture, I'm going to post another one tomorrow of the back to show all the wonderful colours and curls...hey! I think I just thought of a page title!

My boy doesn't walk...he skips!

I love it! He doesn't run or walk he actually skips...from one end of the room to another. This was at the water park in Niagara Falls last month, skipping through the sprays of water.....

Things just jump out at me.....

I went shopping looking for something to hold DVD's in. Found something that works for me, thank goodness as we have quite the mess near the tv, but things jump out out at me and follow me home.....like this......itsn't it sooooo cute!!

My sister made these adorable cupcakes for Olivia's family birthday party...sooo sweet.

Ribbon Embellies

I made this ribbon embellishment with stickers and a couple of circles. The ribbons are cut in two inch strips and stuck down on the circle. You have to plan out your message and line up all your pieces before you stick them down. It's a cute way to make your own personalized embellishment.

A fix up in the blog

I'm just so excited to have this wonderful blog!!! Elisabeth at ACBailey has so generously helped me with the header (had the white part in the background) and I could not figure that out in pse. She was soooo kind to help me out. Thank you Elisabeth !!!

To be six again.....

So I'm having cuddle time with my boy before he goes to bed and we had a really good conversation...it went like this....

Josh "When I get bigger I don't think I'm going to work at a job like you do"
Mom "Oh? Why not?"
Josh "Because I won't have time to work"
Mom "Oh? Why won't you have time? What are you going to do?"
Josh "I'm gonna be a rock star and I just won't have enough time to work"

I think I need to somehow scrapbook this....I love these sorts of conversations.

My first layout as a DT member

This is the first layout I created as a design team member for the Life Preservers Scrapbook Club. Von gave us a piece of mesh and said "can't wait to see what you guys do with it" so I wrapped my flowers in it...seemed logical at the time.

My baby isn't a baby anymore.....

She doesn't want to sit in her high chair anymore....sniff.....what will I do? How about buy another counter stool so she can sit with the rest of the family? Just seems so sad to pass the baby stuff on now.

February News

So how can you really top January's news? Well I'm going to try......The Canadian Scrapbooker would like to publish not one but TWO of my layouts!!!!! Isn't that incredible? I took a chance and just submitted a few to them and did it pay off! Very good news for me and motivation to keep going....not that I would ever stop, geeze. 8-)

It's been a while...

January started with a bang!!!! Life Preservers asked me to be part of their design team!! I almost peed my pants!!! I'm so happy to be having so much fun with a wonderful group of girls at the LP club...check it out!! Great kits....man do they have great kits!
